Now you’re a full IAM Roadsmart member… As a member of the group, you’re obviously entitled to all the benefits you had as an associoate. If you’ve come through our associate programme or maybe with another group, you’ll have some idea of the dedication given by our members - observers, receptionists and committee, to name but a few. As the Group is entirely run by volunteers, we welcome offers of help and are always looking for fresh faces and fresh ideas to help keep the Group active. Roles include … Observers. In order to run our associate programme we need observers - enthusiastic members who are willing to spare a few hours a month to help others. Full training is given to national, independently accredited standards and its a really rewarding role. Sunday reception. If you’re friendly, organised and prefer to stay indoors, have you thought about helping on our Sunday morning reception ? Greet associates, manage the bookings and keep the observers in line! Committee. The management committee oversee the work of LAM and make all the necessary arrangements for it to function. We’re always looking for additional help, so if you can spare the time and wish to get involved, what better way than to join us! News. We keep in touch with our members both on-line and through our news letter. If you have ideas for marketing, or would like to write some articles for us on anything driving or car related, we’d love to see or hear them. Events. Aside from observed drives, we also hold regular member meetings and sometimes run other special events. You may have been to some already ?  If you’re enthusiastic about a particular subject (preferably car/driving related) and can help arrange such an event, or maybe you’d like to give a talk at one of our member’s evenings, please get in touch! As you can see, we have a number of tasks which need to be carried out but don’t necessarily require you to serve on the management committee. If you’re worried about time don’t be - we can split roles up so you can do as little or as much as you want. Equally though, if you want to join the management committee and get involved with the running of the group at that level, please do. You’d also be most welcome.    If you think you can help, please get in touch today.
